New Meadows Ranger District (208) 347-0300

  • Road resurfacing on the Lost Valley Reservoir Loop Road beginning June 24th and continuing into the fall. Roads will remain open, but delays up to four hours could occur. Users are encouraged to take alternate routes whenever possible. See map of project roads here

  • The road to Last Chance Campground (Goose Creek Road-50453) will be closed near Highway 55 beginning July 8, and will be closed into October. Last Chance Campground will be closed during the road closure and bridge construction project.

Council Ranger District (208) 253-0100

  • Heavy log truck traffic on the Little Weiser road (50206), from Mica Saddle northward to the junction with the Middle Fork Weiser River road, as well as on the Middle Fork Weiser River road (50186) from White Licks hot springs area westward to the US 95 junction until October 31, 2024. Please use extreme caution when traveling in the area.

Title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations 261.50 (a) gives each Forest Supervisor the authority to issue orders which close or restrict use of the of described areas within the area over which he/she has jurisdiction. An order may close an area to entry or may restrict the use of an area by applying any or all of the prohibitions authorized in Title 36, Part 261, Subpart B, of the Code of Federal Regulations.
